Jackie O Inspired Pill Box Hat in Taupe

Angelique is modeling my newest Jackie O hat. It is made from a previously loved merino wool sweater in a Taupe color that I felted. It measures 22/23 inches. The hat does have a snug fit. I hand stitched a silky interfacing so the hat keeps it's shape & does not itch. I trimmed the hat with men's vintage suiting material & accented the bow with a vintage earring I deconstructed.

This hat would make a great accessory to your Christmas party!

To clean & store the hat wipe down with a clean cotton cloth that has been rung out from a solution of vinegar & water. My Grandmother always used this method to clean & store her woolens.

Two new hats!

Angelique is modeling my newest Jackie O hat. It is made from a previously loved wool/angora sweater that I felted. It measures 22/23 inches. With this hat I sewed a silky interfacing so the hat keeps it's shape & does not itch. The rosettes are made from vintage silk in chocolate, sage & champagne. For added sparkle I sewed beading in the rosettes.

The Buffy Neck Warmer in Purple

This adorable neck warmer was inspired by my childhood friend, Buffy hence the name. She asked if I could make this without a pattern and so I did. It measures 28-30 inches. I crocheted it with this fluffy, fuzzy yarn that will keep your neck warm without the itchy feel of wool. For a vintage look a added a rosette that I made from fabric that I had in my collection. And for a little sparkle a vintage earring I purchased from Paperhill.

If you have any questions please convo me.

My first sale & a custom order to boot!

Here is my first sale/custom order on Bingo Pajamas! This hat is made from a previously loved black wool sweater that I felted by washing in a hot water & then drying on very hot setting. The rosettes are handmade by me from a prom dress from 1983 and for added sparkle vintage aurora borelious crystal earrings I purchased from Paperhill.etsy.com. Angelique is the best model & I think the vintage looking sunglasses kinda brings you back to the 1940s or 1950s.

Thank you for stopping by & I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Bingo Pajamas!

Good evening!
Well, I've finally taken the plunge & started a Blog. Who knew? I titled it Bingo Pajamas because my sister in law, STEF use to say that when she was a little girl & well, I fell inlove with it. It's just so happy a saying.

It will take me a while to get the hang of this & to be a regular on the blog.

A little bit about myself. I am married to a great guy & we have two adorning dogs, Gummy Bear & Emmett. They are the light of our eyes. I work in small town government as the local town clerk. I am also a member of many community groups/committees. I have a little shop on Etsy called Bingo Pajamas where I started to crochet hats, mittens, gloves & scarves. I am putting that on hold for a few months because at this time it's really slow. Seems, that no one wants to purchase winter wear in the spring? So, this will give me more time to create & come up with new ideas. You can find me at www.bingopajamas.etsy.com

I also have to thank my high school friend, Suz! She got me started and her shops are Paperhill & Paperhill Fabric also located on Etsy. She is an amazing craftster & seamstress. Her wares are so beautiful, delicate & vintage.

I am going to end this for now. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I had writing it! Take care & see you next time.
