Lavender Scented Spa Set

Hi... I have been busy making & creating items for my Etsy shop, Bingo Pajamas! I am trying something new... a spa set!

Lavender Scented Spa Set for the man in your life

I have put together a beautiful set that I made myself.

The set includes:
Lavender scented rice filled neck warmer
Lavender scented bath salts
Eye mask
cotton cloth pouch

I made the neck warmer & filled it with rice, dried lavender buds, & lavender essential oil. You can put it in the freezer for a cooling effect or I recommend pre-heating the oven to 200 degrees & placing the neck warmer in the oven for about 30-40 minutes. You can put it in the microwave but, I find that it "cooks" the rice & it smells like burnt rice.

The bath salts are made by me with epson salts, dried lavender buds, & lavender essential oil.

Hometown Girl Valentine Give Away!

February 02, 2011

Be My Valentine & A Giveaway.

Sweet & simple gifts for Valentine's Day. I started with Emily's thank you notecards that I purchased and download onto my cardstock. I found some envelopes on Etsy to match the size of the notecards. Each is a set of four notecards & envelopes in a vintage glassine envelope. I layered it with a folded doilie and tied it closed with twine. I stamped a heart tag with glitter to top it off. A couple sets got four stamps too!

I know it's nothing fancy but since I love you girls so much. I made a special set of eight with the stamps to send to one of you lovely ladies.

Happy New Year

I know... I know... I've been away for quite some time. I was really sick & then trying to get better & getting back into the swing of that thing called "LIFE" I totally forgot! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & New Years. As the usual resolution I joined a gym & going to attempt to take better care of myself. It's 20 miles from home but, the drive is actually quite nice... I don't listen to the radio much... I like to keep to my thoughts. I think about all that I want to accomplish this year... blog more on a regular basis, sew more, create more, spend more time on my Etsy shoppe, & make our house a home. I think that by writing all this down & putting it out there for you to read might make me more self aware & that I will keep my promise to myself. It's nice to do things like that... don't you think? In the mean time what do you have planned for 2011? I would love to hear from you. Thank you for stopping by... I will do better next time. Kristen :)

Cold...cough-cough-sniffle-sniffle

Good morning everyone...
I have not been feeling 100% as of late. It all started in Cancun with a bit of a stuffy nose... nothing big... I still had a great time. Now... it's a full blown head & chest cold! My BFF is into Homeopothy, Naturopath, & Traditional Chinese Medicine. She stopped by yesterday & loaded me up until she can get me my own little stash. What a sweetheart she is! She even called her sister in Utah who is licensed in TCM! I have been using my colodial silver nose spray & drinking lots of Emergen-C like it's going out of style until she drops off more meds.

Growing up with a Polish Gramma it was kinda nice to be sick at her house. She would fix me up on the "devan" in the "parlor" so I could watch TV. She would make homemade chicken soup with Kluski noodles! Gramma would rub my chest & back with Vix Vapor Rub & put warm cloth diapers on me right out of the oven. Then she would make a "Hot Toddie"... tea with lemon, honey & a bit of whiskey! Now, those were the days! You always felt loved at Gramma's house! My Mom still does that! And, I even do that to my husband when he's sick with a cold.

Let me know what your Gramma's & Mother's did for you as a child when you were sick with a cold... I would love to hear from you!

Thank you for stopping by!
Merry Christmas!
Kristen
